Our story

Built by a parent who'd had enough

Hometime started as one parent's fix for the daily scramble around kids' school presence — who's picking up, who's staying for after-care, what's safe for lunch, what did the teacher say. It became a promise to the schools that host that day: give your families one clean, warm place for all of it, in their language, with their privacy treated as sacred. That's what we're piloting with private elementary schools across Canada.

Your families' data is not the product

Hometime stores data in a Canadian data centre, aligned with PIPEDA, never sells it, and never shows ads. Each family's records are locked to their own account at the database level. Kids' names and allergy notes are exactly as sensitive as your parents think they are — we treat them that way. Read the privacy promise

What does it cost?

Pilot schools use Hometime free while we shape the product together — no setup fee, no credit card, cancel anytime. Long-term pricing will be simple per-school licensing, and founding pilot schools lock in preferred terms.

How much work is this for our office?

Almost none — that's the point. We configure your school (menus, programs, classes, branding) for you. There's nothing to install and no IT project. Your team gets a 30-minute walkthrough, and families onboard themselves from a link.

Where does the data live, and who can see it?

In a Canadian data centre (Toronto), aligned with PIPEDA. Each family's records are locked to their own sign-in at the database level; school staff see only what they need for their own students. Nothing is sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train anything.

Do parents need to download anything?

No app store required. Parents open hometimeapp.ca on any phone — on Android they tap "Install the app", on iPhone Share → Add to Home Screen — and it lives on their home screen like a regular app. A Google Play listing is also on the way.
